The first ever Talanoa Forum; Art, Community & Social Function brings together elders and community leaders from Indigenous Australia, Kiribati and the Sudanese communities based in Melbourne in a conversation about their past, present and future goals. Invited guests include artists, human rights activists, academia, police, members of parliament, lawyers, religious leaders, students, grass roots organisations, political analysts, social services for indigenous, refugee and asylum seeker communities, youth services and more.

This event is kindly hosted by The Willin Centre for Indigenous Arts and Cultural Development, Faculty of the VCA and Music, The University of Melbourne. The event is also accompanied by a reprise of the Talanoa: Walk the Talk VII public performance.

“It’s time for art to function for real social change.”
