My recent project with the Sydney Festival was very successful and images from the ‘Edge of Elsewhere’ exhibition can now be viewed on Flickr.
I’m currently in the early stages of my research towards my next project for the Sydney Festival 2011, and will keep you informed of my progress…
During my time in Sydney I was also involved in a panel as part of the Pacific Thought Symposium held in association with Mau Dance Company and Sydney Festival. I was fortunate to be on the panel in the company of brilliant minds from the Pacific region including Tame Iti, Houfaga Okusitino Mahina, Dr Katerina Teiawa, Albert Refiti, Lemi Ponifasio, Richard Bell, Djon Mundine – chaired by Rhoda Roberts.
Back in Auckland, I recently showcased a work-in-progress performance theatre production with the support of Creative New Zealand and the Auckland Festival. The concept of the performance comes from ideas which stem from my solo performance entitled Taualuga: the Last Dance. I hope to stage the full length production in the near future.
