‘Art Through Time: A Global View’ is now online. Examining themes connecting works of art created around the world in different eras, the thirteen-part documentary series is an educational resource which explores diverse cultural perspectives on shared human experiences.
My artworks are featured in the documentary series entitled ‘the body’ featuring commentaries by Zainab Bahrani, Marla C. Berns, Andrew Bolton, Stephen J. Campbell, Christa Clarke, Anne D’Alleva, Vidya Dehejia, RoseLee Goldberg, Pepe Karmel and Carolee Schneemann. This documentary features my solo exhibition ‘Shigeyuki Kihara: Living Photographs’ and my solo performance of ‘Taualuga: the Last Dance’ both held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York in 2008-09.
There are many interesting resources now online, including the full documentary featuring my work; biographies of the contributors; an audio commentary on my work; further audio commentary on my work by Anne D’Alleva; and a topic covering “What becomes of the ‘colonial’ body in post colonial art?”
